Becky’s Accident
I was in a car accident on Friday, coming home from work. I’m alright (I’m writing this, after all) but more importantly Lillie is alright and no one else was in the car.
I had a seizure in the car while driving and drove at roughly 60MPH into the concrete divider. Passers-by called 911 and I was taken to the hospital, where Shad was called and I was taken to Labor and Delivery, as I had started to have regular contractions. They did an ultrasound and kept me there overnight to make sure that I didn’t go into labor.
Though I didn’t come home with a baby or any broken bones, I am not without a mark. My ankle is swollen to the point that I have not been able to walk at all and I’m currently using a wheelchair to get around . (Don’t use those motorized carts in the store. They look like fun until you need to put in in reverse and the thing starts in with the “Wide Load” back up beeping.) My whole body is sore, so I can’t even roll over unaided. I have seatbelt marks on my belly and there is nothing that doesn’t hurt.
Shad and Sophie are taking good care of me. Sorry to all the people with votes that Lillie would come this week– I’m doing my best to hold her in until I can at least stand up alone.
Anyway, enjoy these photos of what happens when a car slams into the concrete divider with no apparent attempt to brake. Seeing these pictures, it’s amazing that I’m just bruised up.
