Family friend James came from Italy to see us in February. This month we are going to go visit him in Naples.

We went out to dinner at a Chinese restaurant as James hadn’t been to one in a few years.

James’s visit coincided well with the yearly burden of Valentine making. Sophie’s classmates numbered more than 60, so the extra help was much needed. Also, it’s fun to expose a bachelor to the rigors of family life. 

At one point, after much work, Shad came over and counted our completed Valentines- 15. The disappointment was tough. James actually left the country before we could finish. The creativity started out strong, but fizzled toward the end. Still, we are happy to report that all of Sophie’s classmates got a handmade Valentine. For one more year I remain a good mom.

Poulo was in town for drill. We shared a nice dinner.

Later in the week we met in Portland for a little bowling and arcade-ing. Sophie won a copious amount of tickets and Lillie got to bop things. Winners all around.
