Napoli!

It is about 4 in the afternoon of our first full day in Napoli. Lillie and Becky are sleeping and Sophie is spending some time drawing with James, so I thought I’d take a sec to post a quick couple of pictures.

Our flight over was long, but relatively uneventful. Sophie handled it like a champ and managed to sleep for most of the overnight flight. Lillie also slept quite a bit, but was running a fever and was clearly pretty miserable. We landed in Rome at 6:30am, met James, then drove down to Naples. It was a beautiful day so we spent most of the afternoon playing in the sun, wandering around the city, and trying to keep the girls from falling asleep (not entirely successfully).

We stopped at a little trattoria for a late afternoon snack. Becky flirted with the waiters a bit and soon found herself back in the kitchen. She took to it well and helped make us some tasty pizza

We headed out again this morning to see the city. We walked through a park and saw some turtles (which Lillie loved), rode the metro, and spent a while wandering around the market where Becky bought me a nice Italian wool sweater (just 15 euros!). We have been making a point to stop at cafes pretty regularly — I am amazed that you can get a coffee or a pastry for just 80 euro cents (about a buck).
